It has been two weeks since I entered the race for Congress in the 10th Congressional District which spans from Quincy to Provincetown. I want to thank everyone for their positive comments and support. If you have not already signed up to volunteer, please do so by clicking the link below:

I am also excited to inform you that my friend, Campaign Treasurer and two-term Sandwich Selectman, Randy Hunt has announced he will be running for the State House seat I currently hold. Randy’s website is http://www.electrandyhunt.com/
The decision to leave the Massachusetts House and seek the Republican nomination for Congress in the 10th Congressional District was not an easy one. I have tremendously enjoyed the opportunity to serve the people of the Upper Cape Cod region these last eight years. As a strong believer in self-imposed term limits and being passionate about many Federal issues, I felt it was time to offer myself as a candidate to represent the good people of the 10th District in Congress.
My campaign is based on my belief that the people of the 10th Congressional District need a fresh, dynamic and effective voice in Washington. We need someone who will stand up for the values we all believe in, and fight for action on issues like real health care reform without mandates, better job opportunities, checks on illegal immigration, lower taxes and less national debt, and an end to the insider and special-interest dealing that permeates Capitol Hill.
Being a former small business owner, I also have an appreciation for self-enterprise and the entrepreneurial spirit. Taking this spirit one step further, this past spring I published my first book, MY GOP (www.MyGOPBook.com) In my book, I reflect on the last two election cycles, discuss why people don’t change political parties, even when their party no longer reflects their own values, and I also outline a proud Republican history. I also discuss the issues I believe our Nation should be addressing, such as illegal immigration, real welfare reform, honoring the will of the voters and of course, the growing size and scope of government.
Having served as a Wareham police officer for eight years, where I rose up through the ranks to Sergeant, I also have experience in public safety. Additionally, I have deep respect for the rule of law as a licensed attorney and as a partner in the law firm of Flannigan and Perry P.C., (with offices in Hanover and Hyannis).
You also know of my commitment to conservative principles, good government and reform as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. I have always tried to stand up for principles that matter to me and to those I represent, whether that means reaching across the aisle to work with members of the other party, or if it means not being afraid to stand alone for what needs to get done.
I believe in smaller and more responsible government. Fighting hard against new taxes, I’ve consistently spoken out for fiscal responsibility. Several years ago, I was one of only two members of the House to vote against the proposal for a mandated health insurance system in Massachusetts out of concerns about the Bill’s costs and ramifications. Since then, as those rising costs have become even more apparent in the state budget, I have worked with other members to push for tort reform and electronic record-keeping proposals that would lower health care costs and improve the delivery of health care services for Massachusetts residents.
Being a steward of the law, I strongly believe in taking a stand against illegal immigration, and I have proposed legislation which would deny state benefits for illegal immigrants that cost Massachusetts legal residents millions of dollars each and every year.
If anyone would like to contact me personally, I encourage you to e-mail me at: Jeff@JeffPerryforCongress.com or call me at home at 508-888-3094.
Please join me for the exciting Grand Opening of my first Congressional Office at Heritage Plaza, 337 Cotuit Road, Sandwich, Building B, Suite 3, on Saturday, February 20th at 10:00 a.m.!
Sincerely,
Jeff
