The Pandemic bill is almost DEAD
Posted Thursday February 4, 2010 at 10:41 am by Bob Dwyer (district 4)

2-9-2010 - I just got an update from Sen. Bob Hedlund that the bill is NOT Dead yet. The conference committee could still address this legislation in the months to come. We are hoping that as we get past the "flu season" that it will die in committee. As the threat to contracting the flu dimishes, so does the possibilty that this bill will be redressed. The key date to look forward to is July 31st. This is when the possibility for the committee to reconvene will have passed. The bill will not be offficially dead until Jan 2nd 2011.

The following post was premature in suggesting that the "Pandemic Bill is Dead" and my apologies for such wishful thinking.

In 2009 there was much propagated hysteria over the swine flu and the need to be vaccinated. Out of that hysteria came Massachusetts Senate Bill-2028 better known as “the pandemic bill”. When MassLPA found out that this bill had passed the senate unanimously in April 2009, we immediately jumped to action. As many of our members know, this legislation contained the most egregious language, which if enacted, would strip away what’s left of our constitutional protections in the case of a “declared emergency”. The bill’s chief sponsor, Sinator Richard T Moore, former associate director of the FEMA under the Clinton administration, was poised to “bring state law more in line with federal law” and stated that this bill “was vetted against the constitution”. Then a few days later, when questioned by members of MassLPA about upholding his oath to the constitution stated  what, that thing, when was it written, 1800…what was it “83…’89… I don’t know” (Affidavits of this exchange) This senator, who took an oath to protect and defend the constitution against all threats, both foreign and domestic, proved himself to be a fraud and a traitor.

It became clear to the MassLPA that we had an enemy to our freedoms on Beacon Hill and we had our work cut out for us. We launched a lobbying campaign to expose this treasonous legislation to our state representatives in an effort to defeat the bill before it could come up for a vote in the house. Fortunately S-2028, after passing the Senate, had to go through the House Ways and Means Committee, which provided the MassLPA with several months to organize, draft lobbying packets and walk the halls of Beacon Hill and visit with dozens of state reps and their aides.

Our lobbying packets consisted of a legal analysis, which clearly pointed to the constitutional violations within S-2028. We also provided our lawmakers with educational packets on the documented dangers of vaccinations and the criminal activities of the big pharmaceutical industry specifically Baxter.

Throughout the spring, summer and fall the MassLPA reached out to our membership and beyond gaining much attention as the only effective organization dedicated to stopping this legislation.  Our efforts were picked up by Infowars.com, the Boston Globe  and many other alternative online news networks.

It became apparent to many researchers and truth in media networks across the globe that the MSM hype behind the H1N1, so called flu pandemic, was nothing more that a marketing campaign designed to maximize profits for these vaccine manufacturers. The age-old criminal activity of “problem, reaction, and solution” was once again in full swing. Many senators, including Richard T Moore, and their aides would call this a conspiracy theory and attempt to debunk our claims based on paranoid assumptions.

Here we are in the late winter of 2010 and the “deadly strain” of H1N1 flu has proven to be less virulent (and possibly non-existent) than even the seasonal flu and the claims that the public needed to be protected from it through quarantining and mandated vaccines proved to be the false assumption.

The MassLPA is not a well funded corporate backed lobbying firm, but a team of concerned citizens that have had enough of big government trying to push us around and strip away our freedoms. The passion and deliberation behind such a well-organized citizen watchdog group has proven to be far more effective than all the Big Pharma lobbyists could hope for.

Just days after leaving the House W&M Committee, the house took up a vote. State Rep Brad Jones along with 22 other reps wished to postpone the vote for 5 days in order to allow the time to read the House version and all the amendments attached. The house said NO, we must vote NOW. It was interesting to the MassLPA members that attended this house session when we witnessed that there were barely 40 of the 160 representatives in attendance. How could this denote a quorum, yet the speaker pressed on and the house voted in favor of the house version 114 yeas to 36 neas.

State Rep Lew Evangelidis was the one voice of reason during the house vote on the Pandemic legislation. Amidst a sea of fearful big government rants, Representative Evangeliidis stood in defense of constitutional restraint. And it was my pleasure to welcome and introduce him to our convention. . Lew’s outstanding debate speech on the Pandemic legislation and his unwavering defense of the constitution can be viewed on the House Senate archive at 101 minutes into the video here. http://masslegislature.tv/elements/video_hse.php?id=534.

Lew attended and spoke the MassLPA’s fifth quarterly convention and stated that our efforts at blocking S-2028 were greater than we may ever imagine. He also suggested that, as a member of the conference committee handling the pandemic bill in an attempt to mesh the two versions into a single piece of legislation, have met with a stalemate of sorts with Senators Richard T Moore and Susan Fargo digging in their heels, while Senator Bob Hedlund has aligned with the three state reps that would like to see the house version over the senate version. Rep Evangelidis said that the committee is not moving and ultimately this legislation is DEAD. Hat’s off to our members and all that voiced their concerns and lobbied the statehouse this past summer and fall for “Killing the Bill”.
