Today is also the day that GOP State Committee members will be voting for a new State GOP Chair.

The Documentary Film &
Discussion Series, sponsored by the Ashland Friends of the Library, presents
"Money as Debt," Tuesday, January 27.
The film will be shown at 7 p.m. in
the Library's Community Room, Ashland Public Library, 66 Front St., and
is free and open to the public. Viewers are invited to stay for discussion.
Paul Grignon's 47-minute animated presentation tells in very simple and
effective graphic terms what money is and how it is being created.
The Greater Boston Business and Professional chapter of The John Birch Society will hold its first meeting of 2009 on Friday January 30th-12:00 Noon at the Lord Wakefield 595 North Ave Wakefield (Exit 39 off of TRt 128).

Springfield: The city council's Veterans, Administration and Human Services Committee discussed the new state marijuana law on January 26. Chairman James J. Ferrera III will propose the marijuana ordinance at the next council meeting February 2, at City Hall, 36 Court Street, Springfield, MA, in City Hall Council Chambers the meeting begins at 7:30 PM.

The topics for this weeks meeting will include updates on the Q2 re-criminalization effort in Springfield, Chicopee and Holyoke. Although a non-partisan issue, conservatives should be all over this. It's an economic loser for municipalities and the intent of the voters to "decriminalize" was loud and clear. Even the most basic analysis of this local re-criminalization effort reveals that much is based on assumptions & generating revenue.
This is another opportunity for us to assert our message of liberty within the Republican party. Please feel free to discuss our options to promote this message and post your carpool requests / offers so we can have a good statewide turn out. Here is the information as it was submitted.

2009 is going to be a good year for the cause of Liberty and I hope you can be a part of the good times to come. This won't happen without each and every patriot dedicating themselves to the restoration of Constitutional government.
This week's meeting will continue to focus on two items: Springfield City Council sub- committee meeting and scheduling fundraising events.
