The Documentary Film &
Discussion Series, sponsored by the Ashland Friends of the Library, presents
"Money as Debt," Tuesday, January 27.

The film will be shown at 7 p.m. in
the Library's Community Room, Ashland Public Library, 66 Front St.,  and
is free and open to the public. Viewers are invited to stay for discussion.

Paul Grignon's 47-minute animated presentation tells in very simple and
effective graphic terms what money is and how it is being created.

Springfield: The city council's Veterans, Administration and Human Services Committee discussed the new state marijuana law on January 26. Chairman James J. Ferrera III will propose the marijuana ordinance at the next council meeting February 2, at City Hall, 36 Court Street, Springfield, MA, in City Hall Council Chambers the meeting begins at 7:30 PM.

The topics for this weeks meeting will include updates on the Q2 re-criminalization effort in Springfield, Chicopee and Holyoke. Although a non-partisan issue, conservatives should be all over this. It's an economic loser for municipalities and the intent of the voters to "decriminalize" was loud and clear. Even the most basic analysis of this local re-criminalization effort reveals that much is based on assumptions & generating revenue.
